The Tuscarawas County Metropolitan Sewer District is pleased to announce that our 2017 Annual Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) Report is available below:
The purpose of this report is to provide a summary of all SSOs and their relative locations that occurred during 2017. In accordance with the permit requirements for our various sewer collection systems and wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), as well as the provisions of the Clean Water Act, we are required to maintain our systems in good working order and operate as efficiently as possible to achieve compliance. In order to achieve compliance, we are tasked with the responsibility to prevent discharges to the waters of the state, surface of the ground, basements, homes, and buildings.
Our annual report provides information on how well we are progressing towards meeting the ultimate goal of eliminating SSOs. It also provides important education and outreach relating to SSOs and steps that the customer can take to help eliminate these occurrences.
